Certificates and Licenses: Active TX licensure as one of the following:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
  • Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

Residency: Texas

SUMMARY: The Title I Clinician provides direct mental health and counseling services to students enrolled in the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) while also supporting additional student needs across Texas Virtual Academy at Hallsville (TVAH). This role focuses on addressing social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs that impact student engagement, attendance, and academic success. The Clinician will collaborate closely with campus leadership, teachers, special programs, and families to deliver targeted interventions aligned with Title I goals and campus priorities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Provide direct counseling services to students enrolled in the DAEP program, including individual and small-group sessions
  • Deliver preventative and responsive mental health supports to students across TVAH as needs are identified
  • Conduct risk assessments, crisis intervention, and follow-up support as needed
  • Support behavior intervention planning and collaborate on student success plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with Title I requirements, FERPA, and professional standards
  • Collaborate with campus administration, teachers, social workers, and special education teams to support student outcomes
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, including behavior reviews and support planning
  • Support family communication and provide guidance on community-based resources when appropriate
  • Contribute to a positive, trauma-informed, and restorative school culture

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • One (1) year of experience providing counseling or mental health services to children or adolescents
  • Knowledge of social-emotional learning, behavior intervention, and trauma-informed practices
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience working with students in alternative education, DAEP, or behavior-focused programs
  • Familiarity with virtual or blended learning environments
  • Experience working within a Title I program or public school setting
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
