SUMMARY: The Title 1 funded Assistant Manager, Student Behavior provides direct support to the Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) campus by serving as the primary point of contact for student progress, PEIMS reporting, and parent communication within DAEP. This role supports the Behavior Manager in ensuring compliance, consistency, and high-quality service for students and staff.

  • Serve as the daily operational lead for the DAEP campus and all DAEP-assigned support staff.
  • Monitor student attendance, engagement, and progress within DAEP and follow up promptly on concerns.
  • Oversee and support DAEP teachers to ensure program expectations, instructional consistency, and behavior requirements are being met.
  • Input and maintain accurate PEIMS data related to DAEP placements, student records, and reporting requirements.
  • Respond to parent concerns regarding DAEP requirements, attendance, progress, and behavior expectations.
  • Support the Behavior Manager with behavior investigations, hearings, documentation, and communication.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with Texas Education Code Chapter 37, Stride/TVAH policies, and federal/state requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, social workers, IT, and administrators to support student success.
  • Maintain and update DAEP trackers, documentation, and reporting systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 30+ Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Two (2) years of previous experience supporting student behavior, interventions, or alternative education
  • Two (2) years of formal management experience
  • Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills with parents and students
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing skills to oversee multiple workflows, staff members, and student needs in a virtual environment
  • Knowledge of PEIMS coding or willingness to learn
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data management
  • Commitment to student success, equity, and maintaining a positive behavior support framework.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Master’s degree
