Hybrid:
This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Cole Engineering three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].
This role is part of the Global Engineering Operations & Specifications – Global Development Process Center, specifically within the GxDP Integration Team. As the GxDP Timing Integration Lead, you will be responsible for developing and managing timing templates that support the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP). Using critical path-based methodology, you will enable robust program execution and ensure consistency, visibility, and alignment of GVDP elements across the GxDP framework.
This position requires strong organizational and analytical capabilities, program/project management expertise, and a collaborative mindset to manage multiple complex initiatives effectively.
What you’ll do:
Develop and maintain timing templates aligned with GM’s Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP).
Collaborate with GxDP Development Managers to ensure templates accurately reflect current elements and logical relationships/dependencies.
Participate in GxDP Forums and support governance by validating that GxDP Change Requests align with standards and are reflected in updated templates.
Facilitate template reviews and updates based on stakeholder feedback, lessons learned, and process changes.
Maintain the GVDP Standard Element Table to support template and program plan reporting.
Manage documentation of GxDP elements—particularly timing and program report data—within the GxDP Element Management Application (GEMA).
Develop and maintain GVDP Build Charts for all timing templates.
Support integration of GxDP templates within GM’s project management tools and systems.
Create Program Implementation Plans and Retrofit Instructions for GVDP Releases.
Provide training and guidance to teams on template usage.
Lead or support special projects and present ideas and updates to leadership.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field.
3+ years of experience in project scheduling, timing coordination, or process development.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Momentum, Primavera, MS Project, Planisware, etc.).
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of Engineering Processes for one or more major subsystem areas.
Ability to translate complex processes into clear, actionable timing structures.
Experience working in cross-functional environments and driving alignment.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
Analytical ability to solve complex and unusual problems.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Master’s Degree
User or IT experience with P6 Primavera
Experience developing standardized templates or frameworks
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Solid understanding of the Global Vehicle Development Process
