The Opportunity
Program Summary:
Under supervision performs client treatments or therapy as directed by a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist in accordance with established practices and procedures and supporting Carewest's Frame of Reference. Duties may include application of muscle and joint treatments, physical exercises and providing vocational/occupational training to clients. Other related duties as required.
Program summary:
Geriatric Mental Health Program – a short-stay program for seniors who have primary psychiatric disorders who require assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to be able to return to the community. This is a voluntary program for those who are struggling with mental health conditions and who need more time for rehabilitation, improvement in their mental health and overall functioning.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Rehabilitation Therapy required.
- Graduation from an Accredited Therapy Assistant program.
- Previous experience in a therapeutic setting is essential.
- Experience with computers preferred.
