Therapeutic Specialist / Key Account Manager – HIV

Region: Central Switzerland 

 

Role Purpose 

The Therapeutic Specialist – HIV (Central Switzerland) is responsible for driving optimal patient outcomes by delivering highquality, compliant, and valuebased engagement with healthcare professionals across a defined HIV territory. 

The role focuses on scientific excellence, strong account ownership, and disciplined execution in alignment with Gilead’s virology strategy, local priorities, and treatment guidelines. 
The Therapeutic Specialist acts as a trusted scientific and strategic partner to customers, supporting appropriate use, longterm adoption, and differentiation of Gilead’s HIV portfolio. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Customer Engagement & Scientific Exchange 

  • Build and maintain strong, trustbased relationships with infectious disease specialists, HIV centers, hospitalbased and officebased physicians, and other relevant stakeholders in Central Switzerland. 

  • Deliver highquality, compliant scientific exchange on HIV disease, clinical data, treatment guidelines, and Gilead’s HIV portfolio. 

  • Tailor engagements to customer needs, patient populations, and account priorities while maintaining scientific depth and credibility. 

  • Position Gilead as a longterm partner in HIV care, beyond individual products. 

Account Ownership & Territory Management 

  • Own and actively manage a defined Central Switzerland HIV territory, including key account responsibility. 

  • Develop, implement, and execute robust account and territory plans aligned with the national virology strategy. 

  • Identify unmet medical and treatment needs within accounts and translate insights into impactful actions. 

  • Drive sustainable performance by prioritizing the right accounts, right stakeholders, and right activities. 

Strategy Execution & CrossFunctional Collaboration 

  • Execute national and regional HIV strategies with high quality and consistency. 

  • Collaborate closely with Medical, Marketing, Market Access, and other crossfunctional partners to ensure integrated and patientcentric execution. 

  • Contribute field insights to support strategy refinement, brand development, and continuous improvement. 

  • Support implementation of campaigns, guideline updates, and educational initiatives in the field. 

Compliance, Quality & Ways of Working 

  • Conduct all activities in strict accordance with Gilead policies, Swiss regulations, and ethical standards. 

  • Demonstrate accountability for accurate documentation, CRM usage, and insight capture. 

  • Act as a role model for compliance, professionalism, and quality of execution.

Scientific & Technical 

  • Strong understanding of HIV disease area, treatment landscape, and clinical practice. 

  • Ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, relevant, and customerfocused dialogue.

  • High level of accountability, ownership, and selfleadership. 

  • Resultsdriven mindset with disciplined execution and prioritization.

Qualifications & Experience 

  • University degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, or related field. 

  • Proven experience in a pharmaceutical field role, ideally in HIV, Virology, Specialty Care, or hospitalbased settings. 

  • Good understanding of the Swiss healthcare system, hospital environment, and regional dynamics. 

  • Strong command of German, with good working knowledge of English (French an asset depending on customer mix). 

  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within Central Switzerland.
