As a Theranostics Nurse you will play a crucial role in the administration of targeted therapies for precision medicine, ensuring safe and effective infusion practices in a specialized clinical setting. This position involves infusion monitoring, patient education, coordination of care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
Collaborate with providers, nuclear medicine technologists, research team members, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care
Monitor and assess patients to ensure treatment readiness, identify potential contraindications, and ensure overall patient safety
Oversee the administration of radiopharmaceutical infusions as well as infuse medications in compliance with clinical protocols and safety regulations
Monitor patients before, during, and after infusion therapy, assessing for any adverse reactions or complications
Educate infusion patients and families on treatment procedures, potential side effects, and post-infusion care
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including infusion documentation and follow-up reports
Technical skills such as phlebotomy, IV starts, vitals, and ECG’s.
Coordination with the clinical trials team to assist in therapy and management of clinical trial subjects (phase I-IV)
Assist in quality assurance and improvement initiatives within the infusion center
Adhere to radiation safety guidelines, infection control protocols, and clinical safety standards as defined by OSHA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC)
Basic Qualifications:
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN), required
Previous nursing experience (at least one year), required
State of Michigan Nurse License required
BLS (CPR) Certification required
ACLS Certification required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), preferred
Previous infusion nursing experience (at least one year), preferred
Previous outpatient infusion nursing experience (at least one year), preferred
Previous oncology experience (at least one year), preferred
Previous nursing experience (at least three years), preferred
Previous clinical trials experience (at least one year), preferred

Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40
Hours of work: Hours vary from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Days worked: Monday to Friday
