The REACH Memphis Scholars Internship program is seeking interns from the Smith and Nephew Mentoring Program for the summer of 2026. This is an opportunity to work with professionals in the organization to gain hands on experience in the medical device industry. The ideal candidate is always curious but applies rigor to any problem they choose to solve. The candidate is able to work independently, but also in full collaboration with other team members. The internship is onsite and based in Memphis, TN

What will you be doing?

The intern will have the opportunity to learn foundational engineering practices and responsibilities and have exposure to working with the targeted Operations functions at Smith and Nephew. He or she will also regularly communicate with both internal and external customers and attend internal meetings with targeted department leaders and team members and external stakeholders. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn more about company strategy and objectives. The candidate will also perform other duties as necessary.

Planned Start Date: June 8thy – July 31st, 2026

Program Length: 8 weeks

Location: Memphis, TN – onsite

What will you need to be successful?

Education:

• Must be a college student and REACH Memphis Scholar

Competencies:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel

• Ability to communicate clearly

• Ability to learn quickly and gain autonomy in work

• Organizational and Prioritization Skills
