Position Details
The Office of Student Accessibility and Academic Support (OSAAS) at The University of Tampa has an opening for a Testing Center Program Specialist in the Academic Success Center (ASC). This position, in conjunction with the Testing Center Coordinator, will be responsible for the daily operations of the Testing Center and all related services. This position reports to the Testing Center Coordinator.
Responsibilities
1. Work collaboratively to manage all daily operations of the Testing Center within the Academic Success Center, which proctors approximately 5,000 assessments per academic year.
2. Manage all assessment scheduling systems for students with disabilities, make up assessments with students and faculty, as well as CLEP and distance-learning exams.
3. Ensure appropriate, secure, and effective administration of all institutional testing programs by following guidelines set by each program for security and administration of the test.
4. Coordinate staffing needs for students with disabilities who require testing in a separate environment, extended assessment time, audio exams, scribes, and other access-based assessment accommodations.
5. Assist in the recruiting, training, and supervision of graduate students and undergraduate student workers who help with coverage, assessment administration, timely test delivery, and scheduling.
6. Establish and enhance effective collaborative working relationships with other OSAAS and ASC staff and University faculty.
7. Deliver assessments to professors, after they have been completed by students, in a timely manner that maintains integrity and security.
8. Provide accurate and timely information to individuals requesting information about disability accommodation, assessment services provided, and assessment security measures employed by Student Accessibility Services.
9. Oversight over notetaking accommodation services, which primarily includes fulfilling students’ notetaking requests primarily via a digital notetaking system 10. Enforce policies and procedures employed by the Student Accessibility Services to help ensure equal access and help students with disabilities access their accommodation effectively, including the use of various computer software and assistive technology.
11. In collaboration with the Testing Center Coordinator observes, enhances, and implements Testing Center policies and procedures for the Testing Center. 12. Provide for the continuity and operation of the Testing Center by performing other tasks as required by the Director SAAS.
13. Participate in strategic planning initiatives for SAAS in relation to Testing Center services.
14. Attend trainings and fully engage in learning and utilizing university-wide technology, specifically Accommodate, Navigate, Workday, and other department specific technology platforms.
15. Crosstrain and provide coverage for other SAAS areas as needed. 16. Other duties as assigned.
17. Contribute to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures and backgrounds.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree is required.
2. Exceptional multi-tasking and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple inquiries simultaneously.
3. Strong ability to communicate in a professional manner, both in writing and orally, with students, staff and faculty daily.
4. Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate accordingly to multiple audiences of varying types.
5. Strong ability to establish priorities and manage time wisely. 6. Knowledge of the ADA, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, FERPA, and ethical guidelines provided by the ADA, ETS, or AHEAD preferred.
7. Experience working with individuals with disabilities. 8. Experience in an educational environment, higher education experience preferred. 9. Experience with database management. 10. Willingness to embrace new technologies and innovative organizational practices.
11. Knowledge of or the ability to learn quickly UTampa software programs such as Workday and Microsoft Office (namely, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
12. Ability to walk moderate distances to assist in the delivery of exams.

Work Schedule
Due to the necessity for the Testing Center hours to be consistent with the UT Course Schedule. Monday -Thursday: 9:30am-6pm
Friday: 8:30am – 5pm
Summer Schedule: Monday -Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Occasional nights and weekends will be required.
