The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team is currently seeking a Test Operations & Engineering Manager (Level K) in Berkeley, Missouri. This role will manage represented Flight Operations Mechanics and Tooling Mechanics in the Test Operations & Engineering organization in support of Air Dominance, Phantom Works, and Weapons programs.
The Test Operations & Engineering organization supports a wide variety of testing labs with crucial work across all of Lab and Flight Test and collaborates frequently with BDS programs and production operations. Mechanics work directly with engineering, technicians, and test teams to provide multi-shift operations support. They support several test capabilities such as structures, electromagnetics, aero, and environmental tests, along with internal fabrication and assembly of test hardware.
The team is growing and looking to add a shop manager to execute on off-shifts in a dynamic work environment with numerous business partners spread across several programs/tests.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage employees performing mechanical and technical activities in the areas of Test Operations
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, business partners, peers, and direct reports
Develop and execute project and process plans
Implement policies and procedures and set operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvements
Manage, develop, and motivate employees
Responsibility for the safety and quality of the team’s work, including hazard mitigation, corrective action, and BPSM/RCCA participation
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at Berkeley, Missouri.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Test and Evaluation experience
Experience managing represented employees within the workforce
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
3+ years of experience with Lean+ and/or Lean 5S
Experience with BPSM/RCCA processes
Experience leading a team for process improvements
Knowledge of Boeing's organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities
Experience working with business partners for integrated schedules, work instructions and planning, estimating, and cost analyses
