The Boeing CompanyBoeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented experienced Test & Evaluation Lab Technician to support our lab operations and hardware engineering team in the development, testing, and sustainment of avionics lab hardware and related test activities. This position will report to our Oklahoma City, OK site.
This role will be integral in maintaining and operating test equipment, supporting hardware and software integration, and ensuring the smooth execution of test procedures for major aerospace programs such as C-17, B-1, B-52 Software integration labs and International Tanker programs.
As a Lab Technician, you are responsible for maintaining, configuring, and upgrading avionics hardware and special test equipment used to support development and testing of operational flight software. The Laboratory Operations team, that this position is part of, is made up of engineers, technicians, and cyber security.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level level Test & Evaluation Lab Technicians.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Support activities to plan, conduct, and document tests on hardware, systems, components, and materials in support of avionics and lab hardware development
Fabricates, builds and analyzes test systems, materials, components, software and methodologies
Fabricate wire harness per drawing standards to meet aircraft specifications
Troubleshoots and resolves laboratory and test-related problems
Conducts tests per plan and processes data; documents and communicates test plans and results
Interfaces with engineers, peers, group leaders, internal and external suppliers, and laboratory users for direction, collaboration, approval, and identifying requirements to resolve design, manufacturing, and related process problems
Coordinate system integration, setup, checkout, and teardown activities for test operations per work orders
Maintain inventory of consumables (cleaning supplies, wires, connectors, adhesives, tubing, Dremel bits, etc.)
Organize lab tools and parts using 5S or similar principles to ensure a clean free of FOD and efficient workspace
Performs preventative maintenance on lab equipment
Supports laboratory logistic activities associated with multiple projects
Works independently on assigned tasks
Ability to lift loads of approximately 35 pounds
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of electronic/electrical experience in any of the following fields: electrical maintenance field, or military electronic/electrical system maintenance
3+ years of experience working with wiring diagrams and/or functional schematics
3+ years of experience constructing wire harnesses and panels by cutting, sorting, color-coding, measuring, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing various lengths, types, and gauges of wire, heat-shrink, and other related materials
Willing to travel 10% of the time domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with electrical data bus interface standards (e.g., Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429)
Knowledge of MIL-STD connectors such as D38999
Proven ability to assemble, rework, and troubleshoot small mechanical and electrical assemblies including the use of oscilloscope, multimeters, analog and digital designs
Understanding of test procedure development and execution
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze test data
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under general direction
Comfortable working in a dynamic, iterative R&D environment where requirements and priorities may shift rapidly
5+ years of experience developing or testing real time integrated avionics hardware/software systems for spacecraft, high performance aircraft or other similar platforms
5+ years of experience in the field of simulation, electronics, or avionics, particularly aircrew (flight) simulators and/or aircraft maintenance
Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
