The Boeing Company is hiring a Test & Evaluation Engineer who will work as part of the Production Test team on the Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage (CS) and Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) based at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA.

This position will support the program throughout all stages of production to ensure successful build and test of the Core Stage and EUS assemblies. Position will include tasks such as test planning, procedure development, conducting tests of system and subsystem assemblies, leak testing of propulsion systems, Special Test Equipment (STE) maintenance and utilization, and troubleshooting non-conforming hardware.

Some travel may be required between New Orleans, LA, Titusville, FL, and Huntsville AL.

BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Engineers.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Gathering and analyzing test requirements

  • Development of test procedures, instrumentation, and configuration definition to perform tests

  • Performs data analysis, develops and uses data processing tools

  • Verifies collection of complete data set

  • Maintains test logs, prepares simple test reports and archives data

  • Works under general direction

 Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • 1+ years of experience conducting test in a lab or production environment

  • 1+ years of experience with Avionics/Electrical Systems and/or Propulsion, Fluid Dynamics, Leak Testing or Pneumatic Panel Operations

  • Willing and able to work in confined spaces

  • Ability to support frequent standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights with or without equipment assistance

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

  • Experience in space-based Avionics/Electrical Systems and Propulsion system testing

  • Experience with leak testing or operation of pneumatic panels

  • Experience with NASA customer

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay Associate range: $83,300 - $112,700

Summary pay range Mid-Level: $98,600 - $133,400
