The Test Engineer Lead on the CSG Quote & Order Solutions team is responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end testing across multiple solutions, including planning test cycles, guiding testers, coordinating with project stakeholders, and ensuring clear communication of quality outcomes. The role requires strong experience in functional, non‑functional, API, and regression testing, along with solid knowledge of automation testing concepts to provide strategic guidance. Key responsibilities include reviewing test documentation, improving testing standards, supporting UAT and customer-facing testing activities, resolving defects efficiently, and occasionally working on-site during critical SIT or UAT phases. Strong leadership, problem‑solving skills, and effective communication across distributed teams are essential.
What you will be doing:
- You will be reporting to the Test Manager
- Lead end-to-end planning of test activities, including defining test scope, strategy, timelines, and supporting on resource allocation.
- Manage a team of Test Engineers during test execution cycles, ensuring efficient distribution of tasks and adherence to testing standards.
- Oversee functional, non-functional, regression, and integration (API) testing across multiple solutions and environments.
- Communicate test progress, risks, and quality insights to project managers, solution architects, developers, and customer stakeholders.
- Be available, when required, to work temporarily on-site with programs or project teams during critical SIT or UAT test cycles to support smooth coordination and timely issue resolution.
- Apply knowledge and experience in automation testing to guide best practices, review automation approaches, and support automation initiatives—without being responsible for daily automation script development.
- Ensure defects are logged, prioritized, and resolved through effective collaboration with engineering teams.
- Review and provide guidance on test plans, test cases, and test documentation prepared by team members to ensure structure, clarity, and consistency with testing standards.
- Maintain and enhance internal QA methodologies, best practices, and testing standards through documentation on internal Wiki/Confluence.
- Support customer-facing testing activities, including UAT coordination, test flow walkthroughs, customer demonstrations, and quality checkpoints.
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level testers, helping them grow their technical, analytical, and communication skills, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and ownership.
You should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in software testing, with at least 2 years in a Lead or Senior Test Engineer role.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, structured test design techniques, and the quality assurance lifecycle.
- Experience working with automation concepts and frameworks — with the ability to guide automation strategies, evaluate approaches, and provide technical direction when needed.
- Familiarity with API testing and tools like Postman, Bruno, or Swagger.
- Demonstrated ability to lead test cycles, drive discussions with stakeholders, and produce clear and actionable test reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in debugging complex system behavior across integrated components.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex testing concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, distributed, and cross-functional team environment.
