Test Engineer

Would you feel engaged working in an applied engineering laboratory where flexible pipes take shape through real-world testing, directly contributing to solutions for the oil & gas industry?

Would you be interested in planning, designing, and executing tests while transforming data and results into knowledge that supports research, development, and qualification?

Join our Engineering Testing team!

We are a center of excellence in engineering, qualification, and research serving the oil & gas industry. Our team plans and conducts prototype testing for qualification purposes, while also leading strategic investigations and developing solutions to complex, multidisciplinary challenges across the oil & gas sector.

Partner with the best

The Test Engineer will work in an applied engineering laboratory serving the oil & gas industry, with a strong focus on research, development, and qualification of flexible pipes. This role is responsible for planning, designing, executing, and reporting small-, medium-, and large-scale testing activities, ensuring technical rigor, regulatory compliance, and reliable results within a multidisciplinary and highly experimental environment.

As a Test Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering test documentation, including test procedures, technical specifications, test plans, and final reports;
  • Plan, execute, and oversee qualification testing with a strong hands-on approach, ensuring compliance with applicable standards such as API 17B, Petrobras I-ETs, and other relevant standards;
  • Perform critical analysis of test data and results, translating experimental outcomes into clear, technically sound conclusions;
  • Contribute to the design, specification, and commissioning of test equipment and systems, including instrumentation, control, hydraulic, thermal, and pressure systems;
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the qualification process, supporting engineers and technicians during test planning, execution, and troubleshooting activities;
  • Define and implement testing strategies to meet technical requirements, project schedules, and contractual commitments;
  • Monitor and communicate project status, highlighting key technical, operational, and commercial developments to stakeholders;
  • Support procurement activities related to test materials, components, and accessories using internal company systems;
  • Prepare and deliver technical responses to customers regarding specifications, test methodologies, and test results;
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to develop and apply conventional and non-conventional testing techniques at small, medium, and large scales;
  • Ensure compliance with company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, actively promoting a strong safety culture and promptly identifying and reporting risks, incidents, or non-conformities.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of two years of professional experience in a relevant technical environment;
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of sensors, including LVDTs, pressure transducers, temperature sensors, inclinometers, accelerometers, and strain gauges;
  • Solid background in instrumentation and mechanical design involving valves, varying pressure and temperature conditions, different fluids, and diverse connection systems;
  • Experience with data acquisition systems and experimental data handling;
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering projects, covering both technical and administrative aspects such as planning, cost control, methodologies, and technical analyses;
  • Familiarity with flexible piping systems, including handling and auxiliary equipment design, as well as installation methodologies, is considered an advantage.
  • Fluent English skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, and ability to read and interpret technical drawings;
  • Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor is preferred;
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools, with Power BI and Python commonly used in the role;
  • Strong engineering foundation with advanced analytical thinking and the maturity to address complex, high‑level technical challenges;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide, influence, and collaborate effectively, demonstrating strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
