The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Test Engineer, Mid to support our Leidos customer, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Enterprise Portal Services mission.  In this mission we provide a single, unified gateway for users to access a wide range of CMS applications and information.  The portal is a single interface for the CMS user community to access application hosting CMS data.  The portal provides an enterprise-wide secure gateway to the end-users through Web applications, portlets, and Business Intelligence reports which help with visualization of the data present in the CMS data repository. 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our team. An ideal candidate should have a strong background in design and execution of functional, automation, and integration tests for Web applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of testing framework, test processes, and approaches.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and executing test plans and test cases to ensure the quality of software products.
  • Maintain test artifacts, including test data and data verification.
  • Execute and evaluate functional, integration, performance and regression test cases to ensure software products meet the requirements, specifications and standards, and report test results.
  • Identify defects and issues, report defects, and track them to closure.
  • Experience with setup, configuration, and maintenance of test suite with a focus on continuous testing and DevOps processes.
  • Analyze requirements and technical design documents for use cases/user stories, create test cases, and perform impact analysis.
  • Prepare reports and present them to customers and senior management on testing activities.
  • Analyze and resolve problems by coordinating with the scrum team.
  • Ability to identify, document, and track defects effectively.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of software development, testing principles, methodologies, and skilled in a range of testing techniques and tools.
  • Strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and communication skills
  • Experience working with Jira, Confluence, Test Rail
  • Stay up to date with the latest testing trends and tools to enhance testing efficiency and coverage
  • Hands-on experience with API testing, PROTRACTOR, Postman, Selenium, TestNG, JMeter, PactumJS, Playwright etc.
  • Participate in the development of test plans and strategies to ensure effective testing of EPS
  • application.
  • Identify and prioritize test cases based on risk and impact.
  • Ensure that testing activities are aligned with project timelines and deliverables.
  • Execute automated test cases and analyze the results to identify defects and issues.
  • Document and report defects, work closely with the development team to resolve and retest them.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests using tools like Jenkins 
  • Collaborate with developers to establish and maintain robust unit and integration testing strategies
  • Experience with the Agile/Scrum methodology with strong debugging skills
  • Perform end-to-end testing to ensure application workflows meet business and technical requirements.
  • Work with Development and DevOps to integrate test automation with DevOps pipelines.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working in federal projects (preferably CMS).
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL can be useful for testing applications that rely on data storage and retrieval.
  • Experience in automation and core Java to support the team as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any IT-related field
  • 5 years of experience with establishing comprehensive test practices and methodologies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
