Job Summary
Responsible for the hardware design and development of test solutions for a variety of products and systems, focused primarily on motion control applications. In addition to motion/motor control, test development responsibilities can include power conversion/control/management, and cyber security systems. Responsibilities include test-automation for manufacturing test solutions, and test development for requirement verification and product acceptance testing. Assists in the transition of products from Engineering into Manufacturing.
Test Engineer Hardware 1 typically requires 0 to 4 years of relatable engineering experience
Test Engineer Hardware 2 typically requires 5 to 8 years of relatable engineering experience
Duties and Responsibilities

- Design and development of test fixtures and tools for product acceptance testing, focusing on test-automation
- Develop and maintain automated tests, fixtures, and test procedures
- Requirement derivation, tracking and verification for test solutions
- Integration and test of test fixtures, completing validation of test hardware prior to release for use in manufacturing
- Support of test activities prior to full-rate production, as needed
- Providing sustaining engineering support for released products through design of specified changes and new features for existing hardware
- May work under technical supervision and/or pre-established guidelines to develop skills and perform project tasks.
- Developing test plans, methods, procedures and documentation for design verification testing (DVT)
- Support of DVT and qualification testing, as needed
- Participate in Trust Automation’s design and development processes, including design reviews
- Assist Program Managers and Trust VPs with project/program planning, including specification of system application solutions, task prioritization, and risk mitigation
- Contribute to project/program success by meeting deliverables on schedule and within budget
Position Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent
- Hardware design experience, using tools like SolidWorks and/or Altium
- Basic electronics knowledge, familiarity with digital and analog circuits
- Testing equipment experience (oscilloscope, DVM, function generator, logic analyzer, etc…)
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Practical experience in PCB level component troubleshooting
- Practical experience in electrical system level troubleshooting
- Familiarity with microcontroller and DSP architectures preferred
- Familiarity with communication interfaces/protocols: SPI, I2C, Modbus, USB, CAN, RS232/RS422/RS485, Ethernet, EtherCAT is preferred
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems is preferred
- Familiarity with agile development processes preferred
- Familiarity with mechatronics and embedded system preferred
- Thrives in an innovative, multidisciplinary design team environment
- Professional written and verbal communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time effectively and work effectively with teammates and management

Pay/Salary Information
Pay scale for this position - $95,000 - $120,000.00 annually
