Role requirements:
The test analyst role is to design and implement comprehensive testing procedures for programs within a suite of applications, ensuring software quality and reliability. Contribute to the development of test plans, create detailed test cases, and execute testing activities to validate functionality, performance, and compliance with requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Planning and Design:
- Develop and document test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.
- Identify test data requirements and prepare test environments in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment with the Live Testing Policy, including adherence to requisite steps and minimum controls.
Test Execution:
- Execute manual and automated test cases across various platforms and environments.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and system testing to validate software functionality.
- Identify, log, and track defects using approved defect management tools.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers, and Quality Assurance Analysts to ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
- Provide regular updates on testing progress, risks, and issues to the Capability Owner and other stakeholders.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to discussions on quality assurance and testing strategies.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with FirstRand Group testing standards, policies, and procedures.
- Validate that solutions meet business requirements and are fit for purpose before deployment.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects and recommend improvements to prevent recurrence.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing documentation, including test results and defect logs.
- Prepare and present test summary reports to stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
We can be a match if you have:
- Minimum ISTQB Foundation Level certificate
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in automation and manual testing, preferably within the payments or financial services industry.
- Experience with testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JIRA, Octane).
- Knowledge of payment systems, merchant services, and related technologies is advantageous.
