Role Summary
The role of a Test Analyst is to support the Test Manager and Test Leads(s) in the CPD Testing team through system testing configured software platforms that meet customers’ requirements for the Compendia and the Administrator applications.
Day-to-day activities will focus on writing detailed test conditions and test scripts against business requirements, with appropriate test data and expected results creation. Supporting test estimation exercises for test planning purpose, with associated risk assessment around levels of test coverage. Test execution while accurately recording and storing test results, raising defects, retest and participation in fault reviews
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Working with Business Analysts and Configurators to produce and agree functional system testing estimates, to support test planning phases
Analysing business requirements to determine testing requirements
Work with the Test Manager and Test Leads to derive the main testing milestones with recommendations for the number of test cycles.
Analysis of requirements into test conditions, ensuring a proposed system function is testable
Test scenario and test data modelling, for the positive and negative scenarios
Risk assessments to provide guidance for proposed test coverage
Definition of test data for test cases and expected results
Work with technical services for the setting up the test environment(s)
Fully understand how all aspects of their work integrates with the rest of the SDLC and STLC
Monitor any change control to original requirements for impact analysis and capture these changes within a traceability matrix or within TFS/Jira
Implementing scheduled tests, execution and logging the tests and evaluating the results and documenting any deviations from expected results
Defect tracking and monitoring - for issues, fault investigations and triage of faults incorporating severity ratings
Ensure successful delivery and conclusion of all test activities to meet the project target date
Skills, Capabilities and Attributes
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:
Must be ISEB qualified to foundation level
Experience of working within the financial sector a benefit
Exposure to pension / payroll applications, either as tester or operationally is a significant benefit
Have comprehensive test analysis skills to be able to interpret test requirements where limited information has been provided
A good understanding of test methods, covering - system testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, negative testing and platform testing
Have experience of working with the UAT/BAT teams to share knowledge and support final delivery to our clients is desirable
Agile testing process is an advantage
Experience of Microsoft Azure DevOps or JIRA
Exposure to automated test tools an advantage
Either SC (Security Check) or DV (Developed Vetting) clearances will be required, so any previous clearances (open or expired) is advantageous

Technical: Support creation/shaping of test scenarios - ensuring that all such are easily understood and 'testable'
Behaviours: Good communication skills with experience of dealing with project stakeholders and business ambassadors
Behaviours: Continuously develop a professional, technical, and commercially aware approach
Behaviours: Reliably follows commitments and actions through to their completion and demonstrates accountability across the business needs
Technical: Provides guidance on functional test automation opportunities, level of coverage, environment requirements, release controls, testing tools and data management.
