Territory Account Manager – Germany (North-West)  

(Frankfurt, Gießen, Marburg or surrounding areas)

The role 

As Territory Account Manager here at Illumina in Germany, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and achieving sales objectives within your assigned territory. You will combine strategic planning with hands-on execution to build strong, long-term customer relationships and deliver innovative genomic solutions that transform human health. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify opportunities, negotiate agreements, and ensure customer success while representing Illumina’s mission to improve lives through genomics.

You are a results-driven sales professional with a strong technical foundation in molecular biology or genomics. You thrive on building relationships and have a proven ability to convert qualified leads into closed deals. Your strategic mindset and negotiation skills enable you to maintain profitability while expanding market share. You are detail-oriented, highly organized, and excel at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

 

To succeed in this role, you will bring: 

  • Significant experience in Life Science sales or a related field 

  • A strong technical background in molecular biology or genomics 

  • Exceptional communication, time management, and interpersonal skills 

  • A BA/BS or MS degree in Life Sciences (Ph.D. is a plus) 

 

Key Responsibilities Include: 

Strategic Account Development 

  • Build and maintain high-value, long-term customer relationships 

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of prospects, including organizational structure, budgeting, and competitive landscape 

Sales Execution & Negotiation 

  • Identify and manage genetic analysis sales opportunities 

  • Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and product demonstrations 

  • Negotiate contracts and quotations while maintaining profit margins 

Territory Management & Forecasting 

  • Create and execute a territory business plan aligned with company goals 

  • Maintain accurate account details and sales forecasts in Illumina’s CRM system 

  • Leverage CRM tools to grow existing accounts and expand the customer base 

Collaboration & Reporting 

  • Communicate sales strategies and activities effectively to supervisors 

  • Provide regular updates on market conditions, competitor activities, and pipeline status
