JOB SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for overseeing specialized loss control functions across all East Houston pipelines, storage tanks, and custody transfer measurement systems. The successful candidate will ensure volume accuracy, minimize product losses, and prevent quality degradation. Responsibilities include investigating product discrepancies (including losses and gains) and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risk exposures.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Champions complex and nonroutine operations

  • Key stakeholder for facility problem solving discussions

  • Acts as local subject matter expert (SME) for quality control, measurement, LOTO, and compliance items

  • Actively engaged in the planning phase of projects

  • Point of contact (POC) for corporate SMEs and their projects.

  • Actively participates with leadership in audit prep and interfacing with regulators

  • Gauges petroleum products transferred to and from tanks, trucks, pipelines

  • Performs valve lineups, switch and tank changes as required to move petroleum products in and out of storage tanks.

  • Works diligently and follows all safety requirements to prevent product contamination, spills and avoid product loss.

  • Inputs product information into terminal automation programs, including ATLAS, TopTech and other systems applications as required

  • Performs tank inspections, make analyses of tank contents and prepare records as required, make routine daily inspection of facilities

  • Maintains location appearance, repair and replace equipment, maintain facility in exemplary compliance. May perform other general maintenance responsibilities as directed

  • Assists drivers and customers, truck rack operations duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for other projects and assignments as directed

  • Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline. Job duties also require the employee to be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.

Education

  • H.S. Diploma required

Work Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in related field preferred
