Hitachi Energy delivers power grid technologies that supply electricity to more than three billion people worldwide. We are now looking for a Tender Project Engineer to join our HVDC organization in Ludvika, Sweden.

As a Tender Project Engineer, you support the early phases of HVDC projects by defining technical solutions and contributing to competitive tender proposals. You work closely with engineering, commercial, project management, and supply chain teams to define technical solutions, scope, risks, and cost drivers.

You contribute to shaping complete system solutions and ensure that technical proposals meet customer requirements, internal standards, and contractual conditions — all under demanding timelines.

  • Lead and coordinate technical work during the tender and proposal phases
  • Analyze and interpret customer specifications and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with the engineering, supply chain and project management teams to develop cost-optimized HVDC-system solutions
  • Identify technical risks, constraints and opportunities and propose mitigation during the tender phase
  • Provide accurate technical inputs to costing, planning assumptions and commercial offers
  • Preparation of technical documentation for tenders and customer submissions
  • Participate in technical meetings with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Handover of technical scope to project execution teams

Your Background

  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Background in HVDC, power systems, or other energy infrastructure
  • Proven experience from engineering, project engineering, or technical project roles
  • Structured way of working in technically and commercially complex environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to balance technical, cost, and schedule aspects
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken

Meriting Experience

  • Experience from tender, proposal, or pre‑project phases
  • Experience working with contracts, technical requirements, or customer specifications
  • Understanding of risk management and mitigation in technical projects
  • Very good Swedish skills, both written and spoken

What we offer

  • Collective agreement
  • Flexible working hours
  • Occupational health services and wellness allowance
  • Excellent career opportunities within Hitachi Energy in Sweden and globally
  • Training and courses that support personal and professional development
  • A diverse company with over 70 nationalities represented in the Swedish organization
