TSC is seeking a Temporary Mechanical Engineer pursuing a degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering to support the Radar & Precision Weapons Development Operation in Huntsville, AL. This student shall excel academically and exhibit a true passion for their work while demonstrating a positive attitude. During this experience, the student convert theory into practice as they apply classroom knowledge to practical work situations, as well as gain knowledge and skills, which will enhance future coursework.
Responsibilities:
The Temporary Mechanical Engineer’s primary role is to support the full-time engineering staff with their tasks. They are given opportunities to get hands on, practical work experience to help them further excel at, appreciate, and understand the application of their college coursework. This position requires a flexible individual with experience in the mechanical design and packaging of electronics systems such as high density airborne or ruggedized electronics assemblies in support of radars/sensors, missile seekers and communications systems.
• Design, develop, modify and evaluate electronic packaging for use in Mil/Aero applications
• Model components and systems as well as create drawing packages for fabrication
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques on both new and existing products to produce optimal design and manufacturing solutions
• Support vibration and thermal testing
• Maintain responsibility of product from concept to production
• Interface with customers and vendors to ensure product/component performance is to customer specifications and to appropriate standards
