High school diploma or GED and one or more years of work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Hourly)

Position Description:

Immediate opening for Five (5) Temporary Laboratory Technician positions in the Price Institute of Surgical Research studying colorectal cancer and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. A successful candidate can assist research technicians and research fellows under general supervision, to execute a variety of routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level. Excellent organizational and communication skills and ability to work with a highly interactive group is required.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Aid in the performance of routine and non-routine experiments, which are moderate. Tests may include those involving RNA and protein extractions, PCR, and other basic biochemical tests.

  • Help transcribe and analyze data.

  • May assist in maintaining long-term tissue cultures of rodent or human cell lines and monitor cells for viability and contamination.

  • Perform basic literature searches and help to prepare presentations and written articles for publication.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
