JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position will provide dedicated, proactive maintenance, ensuring that all internal tools are reliable, bug-free, and optimized for high-performance data collection. By providing efficient program maintenance, this position will directly minimize technical downtime and accelerate our overall research output.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Main Responsibilities:

Clinical Software Engineering & Maintenance

  • Update and optimize custom clinical related software to ensure seamless integration with medical hardware and evolving research protocols.

  • Debug and troubleshoot complex software issues to ensure "zero-downtime" during critical clinical data collection.

  • Refactor legacy code to improve performance and maintain compatibility with modern medical imaging or data standards.

Technical Documentation & Version Control

  • Systematically document all codebase changes and internal workflows to ensure the lab meets research audit and knowledge-transfer standards.

  • Manage the code repository using Git, ensuring that every version of the software used in clinical trials is archived and reproducible.

Laboratory Operations & Clinical Support

  • Provide technical support for software-hardware interfaces during experimental sessions.

Key Requirements:

  • Advanced Programming Proficiency: Mastery of high-level languages (e.g., C#, Python, C++, or Java) with a focus on writing robust, scalable, and efficient code.

  • Clinical Software Experience (Preferred): Prior experience developing or maintaining software in a medical, clinical, or bio-engineering setting.

  • Knowledge of Medical Data Standards: Familiarity with clinical data formats or protocols (e.g., DICOM, HL7, or HIPAA compliance considerations) is a strong plus.

  • High Reliability: A disciplined approach to coding, with a focus on data integrity and error prevention in a research environment.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve complex technical issues independently and under the time constraints of clinical research.

  • The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to data privacy and the ethical handling of research data.

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate: $30 per hour. This is a temporary position approximately 5-10 hours per week. Fully remote or hybrid option is negotiable.
