The Business Intelligence Data Analyst, IT, Support Center delivers high-quality analytics and data services to the enterprise. Partners proactively with business units to discover requirements, design and document solutions, and drive adoption of self-service reporting while ensuring reliability and quality of data platforms. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst develops advanced SQL queries, builds Power BI reports, and applies data quality governance by using Data Quality tools and Data Catalog to document data lineage, establish standards, and remediate issues. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst collaborates closely with IT and business stakeholders to translate business questions into actionable insights and sustainable data assets. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst facilitates regular data-focused meetings with business units to gather requirements, implement solutions, define team metrics, and meet reporting needs to enable adoption and provide user training on self-service reporting and analytics solutions. The Business Intelligence Data Analyst builds strong relationships with the business units and demonstrates strong customer service skills to engage with a variety of personalities and technical backgrounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Designs and delivers analytics solutions (dashboards, analyses, datasets) that answer priority business questions and enable self-service decision making.

  • Defines and executes data quality practices using Data Quality tools and Data Catalog; establishes metrics, profiles data, documents lineage, and drives remediation of issues.

  • Develops advanced SQL and Data models; builds/maintains analytical and transactional data structures with attention to integrity, performance, and security.

  • Partners with stakeholders to elicit requirements, translate needs into user stories/specifications, and validate outputs against acceptance criteria. 15% 

  • Operates work intake and delivery through Azure DevOps: manages backlog, tracks SLAs/OLAs, and reports progress via boards/dashboards.

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation (including runbooks, data dictionaries, and SOPs) and delivers training to promote broader adoption of self-service analytics. Ensures all requirements, solutions, and processes are thoroughly documented, consistently adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout the analytics lifecycle.

  • Adheres to ACS security, privacy, and compliance standards and contributes to continuous improvement of data governance processes.

 

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in business management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Preferred Degree: Bachelor's Degree; advanced degree or relevant graduate coursework preferred. 

  • Certifications in relevant platforms are a plus (e.g., Microsoft/Azure, Power BI, Informatica IDQ/Data Catalog, Salesforce, NetSuite, Adaptive, Snowflake, SQL Server). 

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a business/BI analyst role focused on requirements gathering and solution delivery. 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: 

  • Solid SQL skills; experience with Snowflake or comparable cloud data platforms; proficiency with Power BI (or equivalent BI tools). 

  • Hands-on experience with Data Quality tool and Data Catalog (or similar tooling) for profiling, rules, lineage, and documentation. 

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with the ability to work across complex data environments and balance accuracy, performance, and usability. 

  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to tailor content to both technical and non-technical audiences and build trust with stakeholders. 

  • Experience with Agile ways of working and Azure DevOps for work management and reporting. 

  • Working knowledge of data governance, privacy, and information security best practices. 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Occasional travel- 10-15% - may be required for department or program/project meetings, vendor management, or enterprise workshops.   

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Frequent sitting and use of computer equipment   

  • Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting materials up to 10 lbs.   

  • Availability and ability to work after hours, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed, to be on call and/or to fulfill job responsibilities and requirements. 

The hourly rate is $50 to $60. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
