JOB DESCRIPTION
The New York office of Alston & Bird is seeking a temporary Attorney Hiring Assistant to support the firm’s lateral and on-campus recruiting process. This three‑month role reports to the Attorney Hiring Manager and is ideal for someone who excels in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Process incoming law student and lateral attorney applications in FloRecruit.
Coordinate complex interview schedules and communicate interview details to applicants.
Facilitate interviews by greeting candidates and escorting them to the conference room.
File, organize, and maintain applicant records.
Answer telephone inquiries and re-direct as needed.
Attend on-campus recruitment events and prepare marketing materials.
Provide administrative support for law student events such as creating invitations, maintaining responses, creating nametags, and coordinating logistics.
Assist with preparing materials for Hiring Committee meetings.
Maintain statistics and various departmental charts.
Support Attorney Hiring team firm-wide on miscellaneous projects.
And other general administrative assistance as needed.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree is highly preferred.
High School Diploma is required.
Prior administrative experience is necessary to be successful in this role. Law firm experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Outlook, Chrome River, Microsoft Suite, Zoom, iManage, and Adobe PDF.
PHYSICAL EFFORTS
Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Standing, waking, and lifting.
Hearing‑ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Sitting most of the time.
Ability to communicate effectively as part of a team while managing independent work.
Ability to maintain attention to detail and juggle competing deadlines.
Desire to learn new applications, firm systems, policies, and procedures.
The salary range for this position is an hourly rate between $20 and $25. This represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at this time of posting. The role is non-exempt and eligible for additional overtime pay. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience and qualifications.
