Scripps Networks is seeking a dynamic Political Sales Executive to join our team for an exciting temporary opportunity during the upcoming election cycle. You'll play a crucial role in connecting political campaigns and advocacy organizations with the audiences they need to reach, helping shape the national conversation through strategic media placements across our powerful broadcast and digital portfolio.

This is your chance to combine your sales expertise with the fast-paced world of political advertising, where every decision can impact campaign outcomes and democratic engagement. You'll work with high-profile clients during one of the most critical times in the political calendar, leveraging Scripps' extensive reach to deliver results that matter.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Sell broadcast television commercial airtime and digital/CTV space to direct accounts and advertising agencies specializing in political and advocacy advertising
  • Execute FCC rules and regulations surrounding political broadcast advertising
  • Negotiate advertising rates and program ratings with new and existing accounts to maximize share of revenue
  • Prepare and present marketing proposals utilizing qualitative and quantitative research
  • Perform client services, including but not limited to avail presentations, account management reconciliation, credit and collections, package preparations
  • Effectively manage a sales pipeline by engaging national political and advocacy accounts and agencies promotion Scripps broadcast & digital portfolio and supporting Scripps to to market strategies
  • Build strong client relationships and deliver world-class customer service
  • Perform other duties as needed or as directed by sales management

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • Generally, 3+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Established relationships with national advertisers and political agencies
  • A strong understanding of television and national advertising trends is desired
  • Expert knowledge of all facets of television sales and marketing
  • Understanding of CTV and digital sales preferred
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Highly organized and able to manage high volume accounts
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in Wide Orbit (ad management platform) Traffic and Wide Orbit Media Sales preferred
  • Political sales expertise a plus
