Job Summary:

The Telecommunication Engineer I role supports the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the organization’s telecommunications systems. This role assists with researching, configuring, testing, and deploying telecom hardware, as well as supporting software upgrades and technology enhancements across the telecommunications portfolio. The Systems Engineer I applies strong communication, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve issues, ensuring reliable performance of critical telecom services. This position requires technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a demonstrated willingness to learn and grow within a complex telecommunications environment.

The Telecommunication Engineer I supports efforts to research, design, and plan telecommunications technologies while assisting with tasks related to hardware, infrastructure, and software platforms. This role is expected to analyze, integrate, and resolve moderate technical issues and contribute to the resolution of more complex incidents affecting telecom systems and applications. The Telecommunication Engineer I will research and recommend technologies that align with organizational needs and help maintain the continuity and integrity of the overall telecommunications and IT architecture. This position requires strong technical aptitude, disciplined execution, and a commitment to developing expertise within a demanding telecom environment.

The Telecommunication Engineer I supports the analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of minor to mid‑level technical issues within the telecommunications environment. Responsibilities include monitoring telecom and related technology systems, maintaining performance, and providing user support through service tickets with appropriate escalation when required. This role assists with implementing hardware and software solutions while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. Additional duties include installing software updates, applying patches, resolving software issues, and performing system backups and recovery tasks as directed. Consistent execution, technical discipline, and a strong commitment to learning are essential for success in this role.

What you will do:

  • Support ongoing maintenance, expansion, and upgrades of Endeavor Health’s telecommunications systems, software, platforms, and infrastructure. Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure hardware and software changes integrate properly across environments and meet performance and business requirements.
  • Work with telecommunications and technology teams to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, using reference materials and established procedures. Demonstrate foundational proficiency in the telecom platforms within the assigned portfolio and manage service tickets and work assignments accordingly.
  • Assist in executing platform changes that may impact other organizational functions. Participate in discussions to identify the effects of new technologies, applications, or design changes within the telecom environment. Communicate effectively with users and stakeholders regarding system functions and impacts.
  • Install software releases, system upgrades, and patches; evaluate and resolve software‑related issues within the assigned telecommunications portfolio. Assess security patches based on criticality and enterprise impact.
  • Provide support for telecom systems, platforms, devices, and infrastructure by responding to inquiries and resolving reported issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve alerts and service tickets ranging from basic to moderate complexity. Identify issues requiring escalation and transition them with clear documentation. Perform hardware break/fix tasks and coordinate with vendors as needed. Participate in on‑call rotation to provide after‑hours support for telecom platforms, software, and infrastructure.
  • Assist in maintaining operational security by reporting security concerns and performing assigned remediation tasks.
  • Maintain current knowledge of systems, software, and technologies used within Endeavor Health’s telecommunications environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Education: Associate degree (technology, computer science, information systems, engineering) OR equivalent work experience and applicable to the role.
  • Experience: Two (2) or more years of related experience in IT, Telecommunications, Network security or Engineering support to the role’s specific technology portfolio.
  • Previous experience with Telecommunications, IT Systems, Platform and / or Technical Engineering.
  • Acquired training or certification related to the role’s specific technology portfolio.
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
  • Functional Knowledge of Enterprise Voice and Telecommunications technology (e.g., VoIP, Cisco UCC, Avaya, etc.).
  • Omni channel contact center technologies, voice system integrations with fax, SMS, enterprise fax systems (e.g., RightFax), collaboration technologies (e.g., Webex, Teams, etc.),
  • Paging technologies (e.g., SPOK, etc.), messaging and collaboration; security, compliance, vulnerability management, patch management, restoration, monitoring, architecture, performance, and lifecycle management, etc.
  • Contact Center Technical experience.
