Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Stakeholder Alignment

  • Support delivery of IT strategy in alignment with Group objectives & Medtech business plans
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across all divisions to ensure technology initiatives support business priorities and growth.
  • Act as the key liaison between TechOps and Medtech leadership, ensuring alignment and timely execution of key initiatives through clear communication of priorities, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify, plan and prioritize technology initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and business performance.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear business language, enable effective decision-making.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to inform technology decisions.
  • Contribute to cross-functional and divisional teams to ensure alignment across projects.

People Leadership & Team Development (Future Requirement)

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the TechOps department to deliver strong performance and engagement.
  • Mentor and coach team members, supporting career development and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusion, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Encourage cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Drive talent retention through recognition, empowerment and growth opportunities.

Service Delivery & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee end-user support services, ensuring consistent and high-quality delivery.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational effectiveness.
  • Communicate project and service delivery status to business leaders, highlighting achievements, risks and dependencies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and proactively address any service gaps and root causes.
  • Plan and manage service delivery schedules to balance reactive and proactive work effectively

Project & Vendor Management

  • Direct the successful delivery of IT projects, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines, budgets and scope.
  • Partner with other divisions to ensure project outcomes meet shared business requirements
  • Manage relationships with vendors and outsourced partners to optimize technology operations.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure accountability for service standards.
  • Oversee infrastructure and systems implementation to support business needs.
  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of systems and processes to identify opportunities for optimization and scalability.

Governance, Security & Risk Management

  • Ensure robust IT security controls and compliance with governance policies.
  • Manage technology budgets and resources, driving process optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Implement and oversee incident management processes, ensuring timely response, resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Analyse incident trends and lead post-incident reviews and collaborate with other divisions to mitigate future risks.
  • Ensure compliance with information security and data protection regulations.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within healthcare or logistics.
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven track record in delivering complex IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and their alignment with technology solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams a distinct advantage.

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft technologies, including Office365, Dynamics, and Power BI.
  • Solid knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, networks, and cybersecurity principles.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and Data Protection legislation.
  • Awareness of emerging technologies and industry trends.

Pharma – On Demand

The On-Demand business is a specialist medical supply business that sources and distributes pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and consumable supplies to healthcare professionals in over 160 countries worldwide. We have offices in Ireland, UK, Europe, USA and New Zealand. The company’s main divisions encompass everything from International Sales through Sales to NGO’s and Charities, Clinical Trials Supply, Imported (Unlicensed Medicines), Sexual Health Supplies, and the storage and distribution of medical products and devices for third parties.
