Job Summary

NAV CANADA is the world’s second-largest Air Navigation Service Provider. We are a private company that operates mission-critical systems essential to the safe and efficient management of over 12 million aircraft movements annually.
As a member of the Vancouver Technical Services Team, the Technologist Co-op Student will work alongside a team of dedicated and talented technologists on projects involving the installation and testing of critical hardware in support of NAV CANADA’s Air Navigation System (ANS) technology.
You’ll take on a diverse set of responsibilities that support the maintenance and operation of NAV CANADA’s technical systems. This includes assisting with equipment installations, updating engineering documentation, supporting system testing and troubleshooting, and contributing to the upkeep of electronic systems used in air traffic control and aircraft navigation.
During this work term, the student will support a variety of technical activities and be exposed to a wide range of technologies and systems that play a vital role in Canada’s aviation infrastructure.

Job Description
Responsibilities
- Assist in electronic equipment installation activities
- Prepare/modify planned and/or as-built drawings
- Update site information databases
- Document work performed and assist in troubleshooting activities as needed
Desired Skills
- Strong communication skills with a courteous, reliable, and proactive attitude
- Comfortable working in small teams and on the front line in operational environments
- Customer-focused and adaptable, with a creative approach to problem-solving
- Willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced, hands-on technical setting
- Familiarity with electronics, software development, or system troubleshooting is an asset
Programs and Level
- A student currently enrolled in a diploma or degree program in Engineering Technology, Computer Sciences, Electronics Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Eligibility with your school program for January COOP
Specific Requirements:
- Some overnight travel may be required
- Driver’s license is required as you may be using company vehicles in the performance of your duties
