The Chemist Operations Technician position is responsible for evaluating the chemical and physical properties for different plating processes tanks and operates some plating lines to plate all alloys required by aerospace and NADCAP certification.

What you will do:

  • Maintaining proper bath chemistry including, performance of chemical titrations, pH and Salt Spray analysis.

  • Notify the Special Processes Management team of any out-of-specification conditions.

  • Performs manual labor associated with making chemical additions, waste treatment operations, Pyrometry testing and new tank make-up.

  •  Operates some plating lines to plate all alloys per required aerospace and NADCAP

  • certification.

  •  Performs calibration and thickness tests per requirements.

  • Perform other duties as required and available for overtime as necessary.

  • It takes an active role to ensure Environment, Health, and Safety standards and procedures are met and complied with

  • Looks for ways to eliminate safety hazards and improve the overall safety of the workplace.

Qualifications you must have:

  • HS Diploma or Associate's degree (AA/AS) (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 1 year relevant experience and/or training, OR in the absence of a HS diploma, GED or AA/AS degree, 2 years of relevant experience is required.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills along with the ability to work in a team environment

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

Qualification we prefer: 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.

  • Ability to understand and perform job duties to meet quality criteria

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & work instructions with some supervision

Consistently be at work and communicate appropriately any attendance issues with your supervisor as per policy.

Consistently at their workstation at the appropriately scheduled time.

Does not abuse breaks and/or departure times.

The salary range for this role is 40,000 USD - 70,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
