AGC BIO

Technician, Mammalian Upstream

Copenhagen, Denmark Full time

Our purpose is to bring hope to life by enabling life-changing therapies for patients around the globe, creating a healthier and happier tomorrow. Our mission is to work side by side with our customers in order to improve patients’ lives by bringing new biopharmaceuticals to market.

At AGC Biologics in Søborg, manufacturing is where innovative science becomes real treatments for patients around the world. Our upstream production teams play a key role in this journey by growing the mammalian cell cultures that form the foundation of biologic medicines.

As an Upstream Technician, you will work hands-on with advanced cell culture technologies in one of Denmark’s most modern GMP production environments. Together with experienced colleagues, you will help ensure that complex production processes run safely, reliably, and according to the highest quality standards.

This role offers the opportunity to work with a wide variety of biopharmaceutical production processes while developing your technical skills in a collaborative and international environment.

Where Cell Culture Expertise Meets Advanced Manufacturing

You will become part of a manufacturing organization operating five production lines supporting pre-clinical, clinical, and commercial manufacturing for global biotech customers.

Your work will focus on executing and supporting critical upstream production steps. A typical week may involve preparing media and feeds, performing seed train expansion, and operating single-use bioreactors at 500L and 2000L scale. You will monitor cultures through regular sampling and support harvesting activities using filtration technologies such as Cuno and Millistack filters, as well as perfusion processes using ATF systems.

Beyond running production processes, you will contribute to preparing production rooms and equipment before operations, performing line changeovers, and supporting the maintenance, qualification, and calibration of upstream equipment. Together with your team, you will ensure that cell cultures are delivered to the downstream team while maintaining high-quality batch documentation in close collaboration with QA and QC.

A Team That Shares Knowledge and Solves Challenges Together

You will join a team of dedicated technicians and scientists who work closely together and support one another in a fast-paced production environment.

The team collaborates daily with colleagues in QA, QC, and Development, creating a dynamic environment where manufacturing expertise and scientific knowledge come together. Knowledge sharing and continuous learning are key parts of the culture, and employees are encouraged to take ownership of both their work and their professional development.

What Will Help You Thrive in This Role

  • We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a structured and quality-focused manufacturing environment and who takes pride in executing complex processes accurately.
  • You likely have a technical background as a Process Technologist, Technician, or similar, ideally with hands-on experience in cell cultivation or bioprocessing. Experience working in GMP-regulated production and following written procedures will help you quickly contribute to the team.
  • Just as important, you collaborate well with colleagues, communicate clearly, and stay flexible when production schedules change. Since documentation and communication are handled in English, fluency in written and spoken English is required.
