The Large Animal Clinical Sciences Department is dedicated to the well-being and care of all its patients. What we want
The Technician II conducts experiments and laboratory technical procedures, partners with trainees in the lab, assists in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and maintains research documentation.

Location: College Station, TX

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of lab work or related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biology, animal sciences, or a related field
Demonstrated eagerness to acquire new skills and ability to work independently
Experience in a laboratory setting
Experience with cell/tissue culture, molecular biology techniques and histology
Experience in data analysis
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
With oversight, conducts procedures and techniques in the laboratory for ongoing research projects
Reviews literature relating to possible procedures and experiments. Modifies procedures to suit the research need.
Assists trainees and other laboratory personnel in analyses and experiments.
Assists in maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies to ensure efficiency of research projects.
Evaluates and analyzes results from experiments
Ensures research complies with safety and regulatory protocols, including IACUC guidelines
Data Management
Maintains comprehensive research records
Contributes by analyzing/preparing data for presentations and scientific manuscripts/publications
Team Collaboration, Time Management and Problem Solving
Engages in weekly lab meetings to discuss progress, troubleshoot ongoing experiments and plan future research
Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of data
Assists in the development and refinement of lab protocols and participates in proposing alternative research techniques/methodologies
Physical Requirements
Ability to move up to 15 lbs with assistance
