We are looking for a skilled Technical Writer to help document the Workato Platform. We are looking for a writer with a passion for technology and communication who can make complex technical concepts accessible to our diverse user community. You will make it easy for our user community to create automations and make automation accessible for all roles in a company.
In this role, you will also be responsible to:
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Support, and Sales teams to deliver high-quality documentation that ensures customer success
Produce clear, consistent documentation, including user guides, workflows, and best practices
Write technical content with unified examples, consistent style, and attention to detail
Maintain clarity and structure across documentation
Document Workato's core product and key features for both developer and non-developer audiences
Work with cross-functional teams (PM, CS, and Product Marketing) to understand the scope and direction of documentation needs
Respond to internal and external feedback to continuously improve documentation
Contribute to documentation tooling, GitHub repository management, and CI/CD workflows
Support documentation initiatives and projects as they arise
2-4 years of experience writing technical documentation, preferably for a developer or technical audience
Experience working in a modern documentation toolchain, including GitHub or similar source control systems
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated documentation builds
Command line proficiency
Proficiency with Markdown, reStructuredText, or equivalent markup languages
Ability to read and understand code examples in languages such as Java, Python, or similar
Familiarity with technical writing standards and common style guides, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, Computer Science, English, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to research, learn quickly, and communicate complex technical concepts with clarity and simplicity
Experience supporting documentation initiatives, such as tooling improvements or workflow optimizations
Experience building custom plugins
Product management experience supporting technical projects for documentation
Familiarity with AI-powered documentation tools and best practices for AI-assisted content creation
