 Position Overview:

As a Technical Writer, you will transform complex technical information into clear, accurate, and user‑friendly documentation that supports dealers, customers, and internal teams. Publications reach a variety of audiences and may include service manuals, owner’s manuals, field communications, accessory instructions, supplements, addendums, and other documents. You will work closely with engineering, service, legal, compliance, and other partners to ensure these publications are complete, current, and aligned with organizational standards. In this role, you will create materials that help users understand and service Polaris vehicles while supporting global product quality and customer experience goals. You will thrive if you enjoy ownership of your work, collaborating across functions, and contributing to the continuous improvement of publication processes. This position offers the opportunity to influence how information is communicated and accessed across a wide range of product lines and audiences.

Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, edit, and standardize technical content—including service manuals, owner’s manuals, and technical communications—ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
· Participate in technical procedures to document and validate service processes, specifications, and product details.
· Manage multiple writing projects and timelines, communicating risks and identifying solutions as needed.
· Organize material and apply established standards for formatting, terminology, grammar, and information architecture.
· Create or request illustrations, photographs, and other graphic components to support content clarity.
· Deliver completed publications to print vendors, digital platforms, translators, and internal systems while documenting delivery details.
· Support the adoption of new tools, technologies, and processes related to publications development.
· Contribute to LEAN practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the publications team.
· Represent Publications on cross-functional teams as assigned.

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (Tech Publication, Automotive Engineer or similar) or comparable work experience.
· Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
· Proficiency with software tools used in technical writing, including Windchill, Arbortext, Creo Illustrate, and Adobe applications.
· Ability to gather, comprehend, and translate technical and non-technical information for varied audiences.
· Understanding of content management best practices and information architecture principles.
· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical concepts; hands-on mechanical experience preferred.
· Travel as needed (approximately 5–10%). (Medina, BC, Roseau)

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $66,000 to $87,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.  While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
