Global Technical Solutions in Puerto Rico is looking for motivated, detail-oriented, and analytical candidates to join our team of Technical Writers. The ideal candidate will excel in researching, critically analyzing, and synthesizing complex technical information into user-friendly government manuals and other documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires a strong ability to interpret and evaluate engineering data, collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), and ensure the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and compliant technical publications.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid, with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of engineering source data to design, develop, and create technical publications with varying levels of complexity in accordance with established procedures.
  • Lead or contribute to the development of moderate-to-complex publication projects by leveraging analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and usability for the end-user.
  • Collaborate with internal and external company SMEs, including RTX Collins Aerospace equipment and/or platform specialists, to gather, interpret, and validate technical information.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation standards, including policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality, cost-efficiency, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyze engineering drawings, schematics, software specifications, hardware interface specifications, and equipment specifications to develop precise and actionable documentation.
  • Prepare publication outlines, project estimates, and schedules to support product development and planning.
  • Take ownership of work assignments to ensure cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and lees than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Proven ability to interpret and analyze system operation using engineering documentation such as schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience maintaining, using, or designing aircraft equipment.
  • Familiarity with component-level electronics, as well as Operator Level, Intermediate Level, and/or Depot Level maintenance documentation.
  • Experience in Operator Level, Intermediate Level and/or Depot Level maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency in analyzing and utilizing computer operating systems, hardware, and software.
  • Knowledge using MS Office programs such as: Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Desired experience with Military Writing Specifications, Simplified Technical English (ASD/AECMA version), ATA-2200, S1000D documentation standards, and producing electronic technical data.
  • Experience in writing or system level knowledge.
  • Experience producing electronic technical data.
  • Former military experience or experience in aerospace/defense industries is highly desirable.
