How will you make a difference?
The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and remanufacture of electronic components and systems used in GE control groups for haul trucks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and performance of remanufactured equipment, contributing to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
What will your typical day look like?
Diagnose and repair electrical / electronic components including IGBTs, contactors, exciters, rectifiers, and other control system modules.
Perform detailed fault-finding and testing on GE/Wabtec control group systems.
Conduct remanufacturing processes in accordance with OEM specifications and internal quality standards.
Use schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to guide repair and testing procedures.
Operate test benches and diagnostic tools to verify component functionality.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and test results.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to improve repair processes and component reliability.
Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards in all work practices.
What do we want to know about you?
Degree or Trade qualification as an Electrician or Electronics Technician.
Proven experience in electronic repair, preferably in heavy equipment or mining applications.
Familiarity with GE / Wabtec control systems and power electronics (IGBTs, rectifiers, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
Strong fault-finding to component level on PCBs.
SMD soldering skills.
Experience in a remanufacturing or workshop environment is highly desirable.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
