MTTES provides Electronic Warfare (EW) Training Range services to the Australian Defence Force in Queensland, the Northern Territory, and other deployed locations. We operate and sustain a diverse range of EW systems and associated networks and software to deliver the required training outcomes.
This role will work within the MTTES Engineering Team based in Southeast Queensland to provide technical support for the analysis, design, integration, test, and support of our electrical systems. These include complex radar, radio, communications and network systems.
Key Responsibilities
Perform design development and review engineering artefacts including special technical investigations, engineering change proposals, logistics support analysis, obsolescence monitoring, publication amendments and deviations.
Provide support to internal and external maintenance for technical queries and guidance on issues affecting asset availability.
Coordinate design and drafting work in conformance with the requirements, applicable codes and design criteria.
Develop engineering design changes within the scope of the contract.
Maintain records for all engineering and logistics activities performed, prepare and generate technical reports and prepare amendment packages to standard templates.
Update and maintain customer mandated systems.
Provide subject matter expertise and ensure up-to-date reporting as required in formulating plans to deal with sustainability issues.
Undertake travel as required, both within Australia and internationally, to fulfil the requirements of this role (typically within Southeast Queensland and Northern Territory).
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Certificate III in Electrical / Electronic / Information Technology.
Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience required.
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) systems [Desirable].
An understanding of key Systems Engineering activities such as Design Reviews, Hazard/Risk Assessments, V&V testing, Engineering Change and Service Release.
Knowledge of Australian Standards & Military Standards.
Ability to interpret technical data and maintenance manuals.
Computer literacy including the use of management systems, computer-aided design software, Windows operating system, and the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva.
