Job Description:

"The technical supervisor oversees the maintenance and installation of various systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and managing staff performance. This role involves directing work schedules, inspecting projects for quality assurance, and addressing unsafe workplace conditions.
Primary duties include lead and supervise a team of Facilities Technicians (I, II, III), provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for team members, assign tasks based on skill levels and project requirements, trains Facilities Technicians, oversee daily operations related to building maintenance and repairs, ensure that all work meets manufacturer specifications, safety regulations, and industry standards, conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas needing attention, recommend and acquire services from outside vendors as needed, liaise with contractors during major repair or renovation projects, assist in the development of short- and long-term facilities management goals, create preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime, analyze data from Facilities Maintenance Management systems to improve operational efficiency, ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding facility operations, implement safety practices related to hazardous materials handling, biohazard disposal, and emergency procedures. maintain records of maintenance activities for regulatory compliance, utilize advanced knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, etc, stay updated on new technologies in facility management to enhance operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate for a Facilities Technical Supervisor position should possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related field) or Related degree with 5 years minimum experience and preferably hold a engineering license. They must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in facilities management or engineering, demonstrating proven capabilities in supervising technical teams and managing projects effectively. A strong technical foundation is essential, with an emphasis on understanding facility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems. The candidate should also exhibit robust project management skills, encompassing planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting phases of projects. Strong problem-solving abilities are crucial for making informed decisions under pressure. Effective communication skills are necessary for preparing detailed reports and presentations on technical issues. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate strong leadership qualities to motivate a diverse team and possess the physical capability to perform site inspections that may involve climbing ladders or working in confined spaces."
