Position Overview

The Technical Specialist supports new product development, customer product launches, and ongoing product performance through hands-on testing, technical analysis, and customer-facing trial work. This role operates lamination and adhesive equipment, investigates customer issues, and delivers technical guidance to internal teams and customers. Up to 50% travel within North America is required.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct lab testing and pilot-scale trials to support new product development and customer launches.

• Analyze test data and interpret results to provide actionable insights.

• Perform root cause analysis for customer complaints and technical claims.

• Demonstrate product features and performance to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Lead lamination trials internally and at customer sites.

• Develop project plans, prioritize equipment requests, and manage trial timelines.

• Maintain inventory of adhesives, films, and critical parts for pilot and lamination equipment.

• Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations.

• Ensure safe operation of equipment and adherence to safety protocols.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma with 6+ years of relevant technical experience OR

• Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience OR

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.

• Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to operate and troubleshoot lamination equipment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal systems.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate cross-functionally.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (reasonable accommodation available).

• Travel up to 50% within North America.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with flexible packaging adhesives, laminators, and testing instruments.

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

• Familiarity with SAP, Salesforce, or similar systems.

• Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift (training preferred).

• OEM training or certification on lamination equipment (e.g., Nordmeccanica).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (reasonable accommodation available).

• Exposure to chemicals in a lab environment; PPE and safety protocols required.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is $80,000 - $100,000.
