Position Overview:

Working directly with Technical Services and Production personnel, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing, updating and producing detailed high quality process and production documentation. This will be in support of OEM’s strategy of building high quality components by relying on strong processes and detailed documentation to improve quality, repeatability and consistency.

Job Description:

  • Overall production support ownership of New Product Implementation as well as existing product families
  • Combining Caterpillar Technical information with OEM process and procedures in order to create clear and concise best practice production support documentation
  • Co-ordinate with Product Groups to validate technical specification and shop floor practices to ensure final production meets the appropriate final product requirements
  • Producing or arranging for illustration purposes, drawings and photographs included in the documentation
  • Maintaining the accuracy and consistency of all technical documentation, via Document Change Requests (DCRs)
  • Work with Product Groups to implement and roll out Technical Updates; i.e.: Service Letter
  • Managing the document development, updating and reviewing processes to ensure timely completion
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other projects in the interests of production support
  • Work with Inspection to maintain the wheel hub & spindle crack report spreadsheets
  • Submit Service Information Management System (SIMs) entries to CAT

  

Qualifications:

  • 2 - 3 years’ exposure to manufacturing plant, machine shop activities
  • Proven writing, research and formatting skills, particularly in a technical industry
  • Experience with Heavy Duty Engines, CAT equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge and appreciation of heavy duty powertrain components
  • The ability to interact with various levels within the organization, conduct interviews with subject matter experts and analyze information to understand the product and procedures
  • Possess a strong knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Have the ability to assimilate and convey technical material in a concise, effective manner
  • Know how to find information and identify essential details
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office suite of programs

 

Note:

  • This position is a Monday to Friday role based out of our OEM Remanufacturing facility
  • Base salary ~ $70000+ per year, based on experience, as well as bonus eligibility
