About the Role
The Technical Service Specialist leverages in-depth technical specialties to provide customized solutions, directly addressing client requirements. This role balances technical problem-solving with strategic account management, ensuring client satisfaction through tailored solutions and proactive account oversight.
Accountabilities
•Lead in identifying and analyzing client needs for the dedicated client accounts, using specialist technical knowledge to recommend and shape product solutions that enhance customer operations.
•Coordinate with cross-functional teams in Innovation & R&D and Sales & Marketing to guide the development of product modifications or new applications that meet specific client requirements.
•Conduct in-depth product demonstrations and presentations, explaining the science or engineering behind solutions and highlighting added value for client needs.
•Identify and pursue upselling or cross-selling opportunities within the portfolio by evaluating client needs and positioning expanded product solutions effectively.
•Ensure continuous account satisfaction through regular follow-ups, technical troubleshooting and adjustment of solutions based on client feedback.
•Support Sales & Account Management teams in reaching targets by contributing technically-driven sales approaches and enhancing overall sales approach.
Requirements
Skills & Competencies:
•Solid understanding, knowledge and experience in Add-ins, Concentrated drinks including but not limited of ingredients, formulation, processing and troubleshooting, with proven ability to apply this knowledge into technical solution and translate opportunities into business impact.
•Strong communication skills to persuade and influence. The role needs to adapt styles and interpret and explain information to differing audiences from inside and outside the organisation who are not familiar with the subject matter.
•Resolves issues that are complex or unusual requiring original thought, research, new approaches and analytical techniques.
•Provides advice and guidance through technical knowledge, research and analysis, which impact the performance of the team.
•Responsible for achieving personal targets, which can impact the overall success of the Technical Service Food Service part of Great China.
•May oversee project delivery, including managing project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure successful completion.
Experience:
•5-10 years of technical services experience in Food Service Channel or industrial ingredients for Food Service Channel, with a proven track record in developing solutions. The person with Add-ins, concentrated drinks have priority.
•Solid analytical skills and business acumen to drive strategic decisions which improve sales performance.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally, managing relationships and executing technical services strategies in different locations across the assigned region.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree and above or equivalent experience in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field.
