Position Overview

In the position of Technical Services Engineer in our Southampton office, you will be responsible for helping the local country Service team to provide high quality technical support for Navico Group end-consumers, dealers, and boat builders. The role supports all NavicoGroup brands including but not limited to B&G, Simrad, Lowrance, Mastervolt, etc.. Typical day-to-day responsibilities include answering technical enquiries via telephone, email and social media, advising on system design, installation and product application, on board field service, handling return material authorisations, repair returns, warranty claims, helping to ensure KPIs and CSAT scores are within agreed targets and reporting field issues back to PM and R&D.

Essential Functions:  

  • Direct consumer, dealer and boat builder support via telephone and email. Where required, entering data into various Navico IT systems
  • Constantly seeking out and identifying opportunities to upgrade consumers to the latest product offering
  • Working constructively with regional Service, Product Management and R&D teams to resolve product and technically related issues
  • RMA creation and overseeing returns and fault verification
  • On board field service
  • Assisting with consumer and dealer training events

Required Qualifications:  

  • Recognised industry apprenticeship, BTEC, Graduate/Associates in an Engineering/Science discipline 
  • Confident in written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Typically, 2-5 years’ industry experience
  • A second language is advantageous
  • Intermediary knowledge of boating and/or angling
  • Customer focused
  • Friendly and personable demeanor with a strong desire to help people
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organisation and attention to detail
  • Able to identify areas for improvement in operating efficiencies and performance

Working Conditions:

  • Willingness to travel, including overseas, when required
  • Minimum of 3 days a week in office with the option to work from home for 2 days after probationary period
