The Technical Section Leader is responsible for managing the maintenance of equipment, technical systems and structures on-board the MODU. The Technical Section Leader is the focal point for the maintenance system. The Technical Section Leader is responsible for maintaining records for work as described in the management System.
Responsibility:
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the below.
- Perform other work as directed
- Emergency responsibilities as per station bill
- In general and within department specifically, contribute to continuous improvement of working environment in close cooperation with employees, onshore HSE Supervisor and OIM
Accountable for:
- The execution of the maintenance on board the unit as defined in the maintenance system
- Electrical plant management.Supervise:
- All maintenance activities
- Managing and delegating work for the technical staff
- Conducting TTWmeetings prior to commencement of special activities, modifications and larger overhauls of machinery, technical and electrical equipment, hull, and structure
Responsible for:
- Carrying out inspections of machinery, technical and electrical equipment, hull, and structure
- Responsible for appraisal process and development of personnel within Technical Section
- The execution of the daily plan within Technical Section
- General Responsibility:
- Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of duties in accordance with the management system, instructions and training within Noble.
Documentation and record responsibilities:
- Ensures: Proper reporting to OIM, Technical Superintendent and Rig Manager.
- Is responsible for completing the relevant documentation and filing of the same following the areas within the duties
- Monitor the cost control and inventory lists in respect of equipment and materials for the rig
- Update drawings after modifications to systems or equipment
Qualification requirements:
- Training according to training matrix
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience on drilling units
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Engineer
Additional Skills:
- Computer literate
- Conversant with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
- Good interpersonal skills – ability to communicate at all levels
- Good verbal and writing English skills
- Conversant with environmental management, quality management and safety management principles
- Approved as nominated person in control of electrical installation, in regions where this requires to be defined.
- Detailed knowledge of the maintenance system

- Control the safe operation of the section ensuring correct procedures are followed
- Ensure his actions and those of his staff do not compromise the company's procedures for safeguarding the environment
