JOB PURPOSE
DEPT is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager. This role requires a strong technical background with experience utilizing Agile and Scrum project management methodologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for Scrum leadership, expert backlog management, and ownership of the roadmapping and project pipelines for a key business unit within a significant ecommerce platform. The role requires demonstrated success in direct engagement with clients and their cross-functional ecosystem of collaborators. Activities will include driving the technical delivery of innovative digital experiences that inspire, educate, and convert consumers, launching new products, and supporting marketing initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define, create, and maintain project timelines (sprint and release plans), actively managing the roadmap and backlog, tracking and communicating changes to the team.
- Lead and facilitate campaign-related Agile ceremonies and stakeholder communication, including Figma reviews, staging environment reviews, and daily status updates.
- Lead daily stand-up meetings (Daily Scrums) and grooming/planning sessions with the development team, QA engineers, content producers, and designers to ensure a ready backlog and aligned sprint goals.
- Coordinate and facilitate launches by bridging communication between cross-functional teams (Marketing, Creative, and Dev) to track sprint deliverable timelines and manage review cycles.
- Proactively identify, troubleshoot, and prioritize website issues and bugs (defects) in the backlog, collaborating with engineering to ensure website performance and stability aligns with site requirements for launch.
- Ensure commitment to timelines by actively following up with product owners and stakeholders to secure timely delivery of required assets and approvals for sprint completion.
- Collaborate with Marketing and engineering teams to facilitate and track the Quality Assurance (QA) process for API integrations and tests on site.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex or technical information to a variety of audiences
- Experience in an embedded or primarily client-facing role
- Working effectively with creative, development, and cross functional teams
- Comfort navigating a complex organization with multiple stakeholders
- Rigorous organization and management skills; conscientious and adept in solving issues at all levels of a project
- Sharp attention to detail and an ongoing drive for excellence
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and business partners
- Organizing information quickly and summarizing it succinctly
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving skills and adaptability
- Proven track record of defining and driving operational processes and optimizing workflows
- The position requires a minimum of four years of experience in digital project management, with at least three years using Agile methodologies
