Role Description

As our Technical Program Manager, Colocation Service Delivery & Management, you will be responsible for managing the delivery and ongoing capacity management of complex, large-scale network infrastructure services, purchased from third-party suppliers nationwide. 

Within the GFiber team, you’ll work cross functionally to drive the completion of complex projects with the technical operations market teams, network engineering and network acquisition teams. These projects can include assessing leased dark fiber, colocation and bandwidth requirements to support new capacity demands and understanding the terms of new contracts including delivery targets and other technical requirements. Additionally, you’ll work to refine and evolve our projects, as well as deploy new technologies to markets and communities across the US. Within your team, you’ll foster an environment of learning and growth, both directly and indirectly, helping those around you develop and hone their skills.

In this role, you'll:

  • Manage third-party vendor infrastructure delivery through build, network connectivity, acceptance, and documentation including project tracking and preparation of technical drawings and scopes of work. 
  • Oversee kickoff and regular project status meetings, collaborating across teams and escalating up vendor management chains when delivery time lines are at risk.
  • Manage the quality of third-party leased Infrastructure documentation including accuracy and alignment between leased asset network inventory and commercial contract inventory.  
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes to meet business needs and improve efficiency operationalizing solutions in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders and vendor partners.
  • Leverage datacenter expertise to define space and power requirements for network equipment, and develop rack layouts and power distribution designs.

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 8 years of experience developing and managing network infrastructure programs, vendor management, and delivery of leased assets (including dark fiber, bandwidth services, and colocation space/power). 
  • 5 years of experience with space/power projects including build-outs in data centers or third-party colocation facilities.  
  • Experience in end-to-end colocation management, providing subject matter expertise for the planning, design, and engineering of data center and standalone facilities, alongside ordering and managing space, including AC & DC power consumption.

It's preferred if you have:

  • Capability to engineer colocation sites including necessary infrastructure supporting OSP to ISP pathways and RFE development in alignment with business requirements.
  • Experience with Central Office design practices, data center electrical and mechanical best practices, and space/power planning including colocation capacity headroom management, (AC and DC) power consumption analysis in alignment with evolving business requirements.
  • Experience using project management and network inventory tools (e.g. Netcracker, ServiceNow, Sitetracker, and GSuite).
  • Experience working on highly visible, time-sensitive projects with multiple stakeholder groups that drive revenue and customer targets.
  • Contract negotiation and network acquisition experience

 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $139,200 - $203,300 + bonus + cash award + benefits. As pay varies by location, your recruiter will share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
