About us
Metriport is an open-source data intelligence platform that helps healthcare organizations access and exchange patient data in real-time. We integrate with all major US healthcare IT systems and tap into comprehensive medical data for 300+ million individuals.
We've found product-market fit with multi-million ARR, 100+ customers (including Amazon, Strive Health, and Weight Watchers), backing from top VCs, and years of runway. We're ready to scale. We're a tight-knit, high-performing team of mostly former founders (including YC alumni). We're engineering-heavy, operate with minimal bureaucracy and high autonomy, and hire based on competence, not prestige. We push hard—founders work six days a week from our SF office—but give everyone freedom to craft their schedule. We measure output and we're committed to sustainable intensity.
The Role
As a Technical PM at Metriport, you’ll be ensuring solutions are both valuable to customers and viable for the business, requiring deep knowledge of business constraints, user engagement data, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
This role requires a highly collaborative individual contributor who drives consistent innovation by working closely with different parts of the organization to discover and deliver effective solutions. While empowered to determine the best approach, you are held accountable for achieving measurable results, influencing stakeholders and executives through data and sound logic to ensure success beyond mere delivery.
In the first few months, you’ll be working closely with the founders and the wider team to define and execute the product roadmap. You’ll be responsible for
- Product Definition: Working with founders and customers to translate high-level vision into detailed, actionable product specifications for the engineering team.
- Execution: Managing the product lifecycle from ideation through development, launch, and iteration, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Technical Deep Dives: Acquiring and maintaining a deep understanding of the product's technical aspects, including API design, data models, and integration requirements.
- Domain Expertise: Quickly ramping up to expert-level domain knowledge in healthcare interoperability and data exchange, including relevant technical standards.
Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years working on software products as either a product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, data scientist, or user researcher.
- Core Competency: Ability to learn multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing.
- Problem Solving: Can work through hard problems to figure out solutions with many constraints, using sound judgement to assess risks, and to lay out your argument in a well-structured, data-informed, written narrative.
- Collaborative: Proven ability to engage with engineering, design, sales, and company leaders in a constructive and collaborative relationship.
- Ambiguity Tolerance: You thrive in fast-paced environments and know how to drive projects to completion without a playbook.
- Location: Based in San Francisco (or willing to relocate). We have an office the team works 6 days a week out of.
- The "Metriport" Mindset: Low ego, high ownership. You ask "Why can't this be done in 3 days?" instead of 3 weeks.
Bonus Points
- Domain: Experience in the Healthcare IT or Healthtech space.
- Engineering Experience: Direct contribution to APIs
- AI Products: Experience building AI-driven products.
