About your team
With a global presence across more than 25 locations around the world, Fidelity International provides investment services and retirement expertise to everyone from central banks and financial institutions to wealth managers and private individuals. The goal of the Global Platform Solutions team is to build a profitable $500bn business by becoming the partner of choice for all an individual’s and family’s financial needs.
About your role
The Technical Manager will work closely with business analysts, architects and engineering teams to design and implement secure, scalable solutions aligned with global standards.
This role will be involved in the full software development and delivery lifecycle. This includes collaborating closely with stakeholders in China and India to design and implement complex business logic using the Java/Spring Boot framework, RESTful APIs and React with Typescript. You will also have the responsible to lead and coach other members in the team in solving technical problem, adhere to established processes, technical standards, and security guidelines, ensuring rapid delivery with exceptional quality.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business analysts, architects, and global engineering teams to define and own scalable, secure solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
Lead end-to-end design and development of Java-based backend services (Spring Boot, RESTful APIs), ensuring high performance, resilience, and security.
Drive full-stack solution delivery, contributing to frontend architecture (e.g., React/Angular) where needed to ensure seamless user experiences.
Champion cloud-native engineering practices (AWS, Kubernetes, microservices) and lead adoption across the team.
Establish and enforce modern engineering standards including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, and observability.
Act as the technical authority and escalation point, providing hands-on leadership in resolving complex production issues.
Influence and guide solution design for new business initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term platform strategy.
Improve operational excellence by developing tools and frameworks for monitoring, reliability, and reporting in partnership with BAU/support teams.
Mentor and coach engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence, continuous learning, and innovation.
Essential Skills / Experience
Hands-on experience with Java/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern front-end frameworks (React with TypeScript).
Proven capability in cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred), containerization (Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
Exposure to Networks, Databases, Security, Application & Infrastructure design.
Skilled in Agile methodologies, backlog refinement, MVP scoping, and driving iterative delivery with a focus on quality and efficiency.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues calmly and decisively under pressure.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and foster effective collaboration across global teams.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability, with a focus on delivering outcomes and driving continuous improvement.
Resilient and resourceful, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and maintain composure in high-pressure situations.
Curious and innovative mindset, eager to learn and apply emerging technologies to solve complex problems.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a plus.
