Title: Technical Engineer IV - Senior Cloud Engineer

Job Location: One Seneca St., Buffalo, NY. 14203. Position requires in-office work four (4) days every week.

Job Description: Work to improve existing bank infrastructure, striving for convergence to a DevOps ‘Infrastructure as Code’ pipeline. Collaborate closely with Technology engineering and support teams to implement, develop, and execute technical solutions. Conduct research and development of new or expanded infrastructure systems. Implement technology standards and policies, perform analysis of user requirements and operational constraints. Perform unit testing, system integration and user acceptance testing. Independently interact with business partners to ensure understanding of the problems and opportunities and elicit business requirements. Coordinate vendor interactions and vendor resources as needed. Review documentation, proposals and changes proposed by peers and less-experienced staff. Continuously seek to expand knowledge and understanding of financial services trends, practices, and technologies. Follow and promote the use of industry best practices, standards, and procedures. Build a strong working knowledge of M&T applications, systems, and development environments. Maintain a detailed understanding of vendor technologies and services used by M&T Bank. Understand and adhere to the bank’s risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls in accordance with the bank’s risk appetite. Identify, rank, mitigate and escalate the risk to management. Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related technical field plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Senior Azure Cloud Developer, Software Engineer, Software Developer, DevOps Engineer or related occupation.

Requires 5 years of experience with each of the following:

• Cloud technology, infrastructure engineering, systems administration, software development, or systems architecture ;
• Developing and deploying end-to-end deployments in Public Cloud, with Azure;
• Developing Public Cloud IaaS automation using interpreted languages including Python, JavaScript, BASH, or PowerShell;
• Designing standard implementation patterns for Azure services as derived from application architecture;
• Designing and Implementing Public Cloud Services to support high availability and operational resiliency;
• Troubleshooting performance issues and optimization of Database services with Azure SQL;
• Developing REST or JSON API Services;
• Using API Services using REST or JSON in code development.

Requires 3 years of experience with the following:

• Using Source Control (SCM) best practices and tooling including GitLab and Azure DevOps;
• Using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools such as Terraform to deploy Public Cloud resources;
• Implementing industry best practice security principles, including Role-Based Access Control, Least Privilege Access, and Just-in-Time Access;
• Using Directory Services including ActiveDirectory and LDAP;
• Using Public Cloud authentication and security constructs including Azure Service Principles;
• Using ITSM, ITIL, and SDLC practices;
• Using Continuous Configuration Automation tools including Ansible.

Salary: $159,435.63 - $169,435.63
