As a member of the YETI Soft Goods Industrial Design Team, you will apply strong technical knowledge and creative problem-solving to deliver high-quality, durable products that embody the YETI brand. In this role, you will work under general direction, independently gather and apply information, and collaborate across teams to ensure designs meet performance and manufacturing standards. You will anticipate future needs based on past insights and contribute recommendations that improve existing approaches. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Develop and manage 2D product design tech packs, illustrations, and 2D/3D CAD models using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, and PowerPoint. 

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, QA, and end-users to ensure designs meet quality, durability, and manufacturability standards. 

  • Analyze production feedback and warranty data to recommend and implement design modifications while updating documentation as necessary. 

  • Present design assets and documentation clearly and professionally across verbal, visual, and material formats to ensure mutual understanding of expectations. 

  • Independently gather insights through occasional domestic or international travel for field testing, supplier visits, or industry events. 

 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent experience. 

  • 2+ years of experience in consumer product design; sewn goods experience preferred. 

  • Proficiency in 2D technical drawing and illustration using Adobe Illustrator a must. 

  • Experience with 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Rhino, or Fusion 360 is a plus. 

  • Hands-on prototyping and industrial sewing experience are advantageous. 

  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. 

  • Ability to resolve non-routine issues and recommend improvements based on analysis. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to build productive internal relationships. 

  • Experience working with global manufacturing partners and ability to anticipate future needs. 

  • Willingness to accept and apply constructive feedback. 

  • Personal interest in outdoor pursuits is highly valued.
