About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Technology Design Lead to drive architectural strategy, platform engineering, and automation across our global data centers. This role combines traditional data center technology design with enterprise file services architecture, specifically Nasuni, making it a central pillar in our modernization roadmap
The ideal candidate brings strong multi‑technology skills, advanced automation capabilities, and deep experience with distributed storage/file platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Unified Technology Design, Architecture & Nasuni Ownership
Lead end to end technology design for data center modernization across compute, storage, networking, virtualization, cloud services, and automation.
Serve as SPOC for Nasuni across the global environment, including:
Global File System (GFS)
Edge filer/VM deployment patterns
Data flow, caching architecture, and performance tuning
Integration with cloud storage backends (Azure)
Identity integrations (AD/Azure AD) and access governance
Closely work with Architect for:
Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper V)
Hybrid cloud and edge computing workloads
Distributed storage and file services, including Nasuni
Establish scalable DR, resilience, and replication strategies for both compute and Nasuni edge appliances.
Evaluate emerging technologies and drive adoption of next-gen platforms beyond traditional VMware only environments.
Platform Engineering
Oversee implementation and lifecycle engineering of:
Compute, storage, virtualization, and network fabric
Nasuni edge appliances, global file system configurations, and storage backends
Build automation frameworks and IaC modules to deploy, maintain, and scale the data center platforms and Nasuni infrastructure
Ensure seamless integration between Nasuni and other enterprise systems:
Backup/DR
Monitoring and analytics
Identity & security tooling
Automation & AIOps
Develop automations for provisioning, patching, configuration management, and platform compliance.
Integrate Nasuni logs, events, and metrics into AIOps and monitoring platforms for:
Event correlation
Predictive alerting
Automated healing workflows
Ensure all data center platforms align to automation-first and zero-touch operational principles.
Operational Transition Support
Contribute to knowledge transfer and documentation for managed service partners.
Provide expert-level support in complex troubleshooting and infrastructure optimization.
Build detailed runbooks, SOPs, platform documentation, and automated operational workflows.
Validate partner implementation against architectural standards and compliance frameworks.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills
Strong background in data center technology architecture across compute, virtualization, network, and storage.
Hands-on, expert-level experience with Nasuni:
Filer/Edge appliance deployment and configuration
Global File System (GFS) operations
Cloud storage integration
Performance tuning and caching optimization
Access permissions, identity integration, and security policies
Proficiency with any of these automation tools:
Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell or similar
Good understanding of VMware, hyper-converged infrastructure, and Kubernetes / container platforms.
Experience building hybrid cloud and distributed storage architectures.
AIOps & Observability
Experience with any of the observability tools (Splunk, Datadog, Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, Prometheus, etc.).
Understanding of event correlation, log ingestion pipelines, and automated remediation models.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
Ability to lead architecture discussions and influence stakeholders.
Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Adaptability to fast-paced technology environments and appetite for continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
8–12 years of experience in data center platform engineering or infrastructure architecture.
Certifications such as VMware VCP/VCAP, Terraform Associate, CCNA, Kubernetes CKA/CKAD, etc.
Experience working with global teams and managed service providers.
